Our spy photographers have caught the first pictures of the 2012 Audi S6 Avant.

Spied near the Nürburgring, the heavily camouflaged prototype fails to conceal that it will feature modified fascias, revised side skirts and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. Furthermore, the car is equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, a high-performance braking system and unique alloy wheels.

Under the hood, power will be provided by a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces upwards of 435 PS (320 kW / 429 hp). More interestingly, recent reports have indicated the car could also offer a 3.0-liter V6 TDI, with 350 PS (257 kW / 345 hp) and over 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, but that remains unconfirmed as of yet.

Regardless of the final specifications, the A6 Avant will be unveiled on May 18th and the S6 should debut sometime next year.
