This latest spy video shows the CLA in action for the first time since it was spied in motion during more conservative cold-weather driving. High speed testing is the name of the game at the famous public circuit and the sound of burning rubber adds a nice chorus to the grunt of the engine.

Speaking of the engine, we expect the powertrain options to mirror the offerings available to its A-Class sibling. This should also include a turbocharged 2.0-liter unit with approximately 335 bhp (250 kW / 340 PS) for the AMG infused version.

The Mercedes CLA will be launched during 2013 with production confirmed to be commenced at their assembly plant in Kecskemét, Hungary.
