2025 BYD Atto 2 coming to UK this summer

BYD is gearing up to electrify the UK's streets this July with its latest compact SUV, the Atto 2. Nothing is official yet but a new report from AutoExpress shines more light on the planned launch. The Atto 2 made its European debut during the 2025 Brussels Motor Show last year.
While the exact sticker price remains under wraps, industry whispers suggest the Atto 2 will roll in at well under £30,000. This positions it as an enticing option for those looking to dip their toes into the electric vehicle market without draining their savings.

Under the bonnet, the Atto 2 boasts a 45.1 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery. This setup promises a respectable range of up to 194 miles on a single charge, making it a solid companion for both city commutes and weekend getaways. However, with a maximum charging speed of 65 kW, drivers can expect a 10 to 80 per cent recharge time of around 37 minutes. Not ideal so, perhaps, plan for a leisurely coffee break during pit stops.
The Atto 2 is no slouch in the performance department, though. A single electric motor delivers 177 PS and 290 Nm of torque to the front wheels, propelling the SUV from 0 to 62 mph in a sprightly 7.9 seconds. Top speed is capped at 99 mph, which should be more than sufficient for most driving scenarios.

Step inside, and you'll be greeted by a tech-laden cabin that doesn't skimp on the goodies. Highlights include a 12.8-inch central touchscreen for all your infotainment needs, an 8.8-inch digital instrument pane, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic glass roof, heated front seats and steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, and over a dozen driver.
For those with a penchant for longer journeys, BYD has confirmed a long-range version dubbed the Atto 2 Comfort is on the horizon. This variant aims to offer over 260 miles of range.
The Atto 2 will be produced in Hungary.
