The Association of German Car Tuners (VDAT) has unveiled this year's TUNE IT! SAFE! concept, a BMW 123d Coupe created by AC Schnitzer.

Dubbed the ACS1 2.3d, the car features an upgraded 2.3-liter diesel engine that produces 241 hp (177 kW) and 480 Nm of torque. Backed up by a six-speed automatic transmission, the coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.

Wearing traditional TUNE IT! SAFE! police livery, the car boasts a body kit that consists of a two-piece front spoiler, a rear skirt insert, a rear wing and a rear roof spoiler. Other goodies include a sports suspension (that lowers the ride height 30mm), sport rear-view mirrors, Hella 'LEDayFlex' daytime running lights, and AC Schnitzer 'Type IV BiColor' wheels outfitted with high performance Hankook tires.

Inside, AC Schnitzer equipped the ACS1 2.3d with leather racing seats, silver carbon fiber trim, aluminum pedals, and a G-force indicator.

Meant to promote safe and responsible tuning, the concept will be on display at the Essen Motor Show.
