Subaru hits 250,000 cars in the UK
The Japanese brand has been importing cars in Britain since 1976.
In a world where milestones are often marked with balloons or a big cake, Subaru UK has opted for something a bit more meaningful. The carmaker has just imported its 250,000th vehicle into the United Kingdom, a shiny Subaru Crosstrek, and is celebrating this historic occasion by launching a charitable programme. Talk about putting your wheels where your heart is.
Subaru’s new initiative, a multi-year charitable programme, is revving up to support causes close to the company’s values. While the first lucky charity is still being picked, the plan is to hand over the milestone-making Crosstrek for a good cause. It’s got that rugged-yet-sophisticated Subaru DNA and a Euro NCAP five-star safety rating to boot. Whoever gets it will be driving in style and safety.

“Reaching this significant milestone comes at an exciting time for Subaru, with new model launches, the ongoing success of our Solterra EV and a bright and busy future for our brand in the UK. To celebrate our 250,000th car, we’re embarking on a new initiative that will help support some of the great work that this country’s charitable organisations are already undertaking,” Lorraine Bishton, Managing Director at Subaru UK, commented.
Subaru has been trucking (or rather, all-wheel-driving) along in the UK since 1976, importing its first models back when disco ruled the airwaves and flares were the height of fashion. Over the decades, they’ve become known for making cars that are as tough as a Yorkshire winter, as fun as a summer road trip, and as safe as a nanny with a helmet.
From the rally-dominating Subaru Impreza that tore up the 90s to the versatile Outback and trusty Forester, the company has built a legacy that’s equal parts grit and glory. Their knack for creating vehicles that stick to the road like a toddler to a lollipop has won them a devoted following.
The Crosstrek, Subaru’s latest offering, is the car of the moment – and not just because it’s lucky number 250,000. As the newest member of the Subaru family in the UK, it’s already turning heads with its sleek design, robust performance, and techy features. If the Crosstrek were a person, it’d be that friend who’s always prepared for anything: mud, snow, or an impromptu cross-country jaunt.
