Subaru hits 250,000 cars in the UK
The Japanese brand has been importing cars in Britain since 1976.

The carmaker has just imported its 250,000th vehicle into the United Kingdom, a shiny Subaru Crosstrek, and is celebrating this historic occasion by launching a charitable programme. Talk about putting your wheels where your heart is.
Subaru’s new initiative, a multi-year charitable programme, is revving up to support causes close to the company’s values. While the first lucky charity is still being picked, the plan is to hand over the milestone-making Crosstrek for a good cause. It’s got that rugged-yet-sophisticated Subaru DNA and a Euro NCAP five-star safety rating to boot. Whoever gets it will be driving in style and safety.

Subaru has been trucking (or rather, all-wheel-driving) along in the UK since 1976, importing its first models back when disco ruled the airwaves and flares were the height of fashion. Over the decades, they’ve become known for making cars that are as tough as a Yorkshire winter, as fun as a summer road trip, and as safe as a nanny with a helmet.
