Introducing the new Motor1 website

The first global automotive magazine gets a makeover: new graphics, easier navigation and the same passion as always

A new website is not news. Because we live in the age of the 'creator economy' that runs on social media and is faster and more immediate. And when the site changes you don't even notice it because rightly so, 'content is king'.

For us at Motor1.com, however, the site is important, because our magazine was born and grew up as a site, because we believe that a website is an indispensable information tool for those who want to read the news while taking the time to delve deeper.

Think about it. It is exactly when we feel the need to know or understand what interests us that we want to navigate a site. And we have rethought Motor1.com to make this information experience even faster and more immediate depending on the content, whether it's a road test, a technical analysis, or a buying guide or, again, the story of a special car.

Extended family

Using automotive language, we have done a deep "restyling" and not a simple "model year" update. It is an update that not only involves aesthetics, but the organisation of the content, both in terms of the 'what' and 'where' you will find everything we publish daily.

How to navigate on the new Motor1.com

Our new site is, as in the past, full responsive, so whether you navigate it from a computer, smartphone or tablet, it will adapt perfectly to the size of your screen. A 'must-have' for ideal content enjoyment.

At the top - the header, for the more geeky - you will find links to the various sections of the site: News, Tests and To Know, along with Videos, Photos and other links to pages that deal with current topics, such as the various car shows. Then we come to the articles, organised in boxes of different sizes and no longer in the old slider. Further down there will be the news items in order of publication, flanked by a box showing the most-read ones at the time.

Do you think something is missing? If you click on the three lines in the top left-hand corner - it's called a burger menu - you will find links to go to the Motor1 list, broken down by brand, individual model or body type.

At the bottom is a function that was already present on the old version and which we recommend you try out: the possibility of switching between light and dark themes. The first mode has a white background, the second black. If you use Oled monitors to navigate our site, consider the second option: you will save some battery power.

Always 'work in progress

What do you think?

Having redesigned the page layout and content organisation, we certainly don't want to stop here, as we will continue to evolve the design with new features as well as make improvements small and large on all our sites. Motor1 is in fact an international reality, the first global car magazine, with editions in numerous countries, and a European editorial staff in Italy, France, Germany, England and Spain to offer even more comprehensive information. Together with InsideEVs, the online magazine dedicated to the world of electric cars.

Meanwhile, let us know what you think of our new 'outfit'.
