Bentley remembers D-Day with a special Bentayga
The Remembrance Car will embark on a journey across the UK to celebrate 80 years since D-Day
On 6 June 1944, thousands of soldiers fought in Normandy after the famous Allied landing. It is now 80 years later and several initiatives have been organised in Europe to celebrate this anniversary. Bentley is taking part with a unique car, a Bentayga EWB Mulliner, which has 80 poppies on its bodywork rising from a map of northern France. Each flower symbolises a broken life.
This special Remembrance Car will now embark on a journey across the UK. At the weekend it will take part in the Race of Remembrance in Anglesey, organised by Mission Motorsport, where it will act as the race car in an event that will unite a community in remembrance.
On 11 November it will return to Bentley's headquarters in Crewe, where Bentley employees will gather for a commemoration, and on 13 November it will be displayed at His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire Awards to honour the Armed Forces.

A moving tribute
This memorial project is particularly significant for Bentley's BeReady network, which provides a support space for veterans and serving reservists. James Lynam, Functional Project Manager Body In White at Bentley and co-chair of the BeReady network, said:
"The commemoration is an important moment for the BeReady network and Bentley, a time to reflect on the sacrifices of the Armed Forces. This year, with the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we worked together to create a design that honours the bravery of those who served, capturing the perilous journeys of soldiers in an instantly recognisable and powerful way."

Robin Page, Design Director at Bentley Motors, shared his thoughts on the Remembrance Car, describing it as "a symbol of our collective memory and the sacrifices made by countless individuals. Every detail reflects Bentley's respect for history while looking to the future'.
