Minor nip and tuck jobs were performed on the Mercedes-Benz Viano and the Vito, while fuel economy and comfort were improved.
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled "new-generation" Viano and Vito models. The Viano is a luxurious mega-people mover with loads of space and creature comforts for passengers. It features new individual LED reading lamps and fibre optic units for interior ambient lighting. Options such as a Rear Seat Entertainment system can be ticked off at the dealer.
All engines have BlueEFFICIENCY technology to make them run more economically without sacrificing power. Features include an ECO start/stop system, optimised low-resistance tyres and a new 6-speed transmission with long gear ratios. Four and 6-cylinder Euro 5 engines, both petrol and diesel, with power ranging from 100kW (134 bhp / 136 PS) to 190kW (255 bhp / 258 PS) are fitted.
The more utilitarian Vito is also improved. For this model, BlueEFFICIENCY is optional and consists of the same systems as the Viano's. The Vito has engines with maximum power outputs of between 70kW (94 bhp / 95 PS) and 190kW (255 bhp/ 258 PS).
The suspension and chassis have been retuned to suit the character of the Vito as an everyday goods transporter. Drivers will enjoy a simpler interface and more comfortable interior environment. The new Vito will be noticed for its different front end with new headlights and a refreshed set of bumpers.
