New teaser images show the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV. The crossover’s technology is likely to be largely carried over from the AMG GT 4-Door Coupé. That applies to the three powertrains: GT 53 with 400 kW, GT 55 with 600 kW, and GT 63 with 860 kW. As in that model, the battery will consist of directly cooled cylindrical NCMA cells.
However, the greater body height makes it possible to do without the foot garages. If the recesses for the feet are filled with battery cells, the storage capacity will likely also exceed 106 kWh - the net figure for the 4-Door Coupé. However, the range gained this way will be at least partly "eaten up" again by the higher drag and the greater weight. So it could remain at a maximum of around 800 km (500 miles) according to WLTP.
The new model will be unveiled this fall 2026, in just a few weeks. The Paris Motor Show in October would be one possibility.
