Dacia plans for 2025 after a record 2024
The company focuses on the C segment, always promises competitive prices and expands the offer of hybrid engines
Dacia is going from strength to strength. The numbers proved it again this year and the Sandero, with 309,392 units, or 14.5% more than in 2023, is the best-selling car in Europe in all channels (final figures will arrive shortly), as well as the top selling vehicle to private individuals in the Old Continent since 2017.
2024 was an important year for the brand in the Renault orbit (which sold 2,264,815 vehicles in 2024, +1.3%) also because of the high rate of customer conquest and loyalty. In the main European markets (France, UK, Germany, Italy and Spain) 6 out of 10 Dacia customers were not Renault Group car owners (62.3%) and when they had to change car 8 out of 10 chose a Group car (81.1%). Customers who bought a Dacia also chose the highest trim level in most cases (78 per cent), 80 per cent for Duster and 67 per cent for Spring.
Now, after the B-segment has done very well, there is a big commitment to Rally-Raid and Dakar and for 2025 Dacia aims to conquer the C-segment.
The model it is focusing on most now is the Bigster and, promising consistently competitive prices for the entire range even in 2025 despite the arrival of many interesting Chinese models for Europe, the company is expanding its offer of hybrid powertrains: Hybrid 140 on the Jogger and Duster and Hybrid 155 on the Bigster, which is the first model in the Renault Group to be able to count on this new powertrain.

The best-selling Dacia in 2024
2024 was a breakthrough year in Dacia's history because, by selling 676,340 vehicles (+2.7%), it surpassed the 9 million mark for the first time since 2004. The brand recorded an 8.2% market share in Europe (8.3% in 2023) in the private sector, consolidating its place on the European podium for the fourth consecutive year.
The best results were achieved with a 2.5% share in Germany (+0.1 points over 2023), 4.2% in Austria (+0.2 points over 2023), 5.2% in Belgium-Luxembourg (+1 point over 2023), 6.2% in Italy (+0.8 points over 2023) and 7.7% in Portugal (+0.3 points over 2023).
The Sandero, which in a few days when the ACEA figures come out will be crowned (most likely) the best-selling car in Europe in 2024, is the first Dacia to have surpassed the 300,000 unit sales threshold in one year. Denis Le Vot, CEO of Dacia, commenting on these results recalled that the new Dacia Sandero, planned for 2027 or 2028, will have an electric variant.

Dacia Duster
The Duster (generation 2 and 3) has maintained its position as the best-selling SUV to private individuals in Europe since 2018 and is also the second best-selling vehicle to private individuals in Europe. The new generation, launched in May 2024, achieved 29% of sales with hybrid powertrains and the company expects excellent results in 2025 as well.
As for the Jogger, thanks to 96,440 units sold (i.e. +2.4 per cent compared to 2023), it was the second best-selling C-segment vehicle in Europe to private individuals, except SUVs (29 per cent of sales were made with hybrid powertrain). And now the MY 2025 is on the way.
The Dacia Jogger could change like this in 2025
Dacia Spring (2024)
The Spring has seen a significant drop in sales (-63% compared to 2023), but the result should be read in the broader context of declining demand for electric cars, and the arrival of the new version bodes well for the year just begun.
Dacia's plan for 2025
With the Bigster, which will be in dealerships from this spring, Dacia wants to remain faithful to its Best Value for Money positioning (prices start at £24,995 for petrol versions and £27,045 for hybrids) and expects great results.
After its commitment to the Dakar and the World Rally-Raid Championship, in 2025 "the brand will continue to express itself with its rugged, outdoor character even in the most extreme terrain," said Denis Le Vot, CEO of Dacia. In 2024, Dacia has once again demonstrated its ability to combine performance, ruggedness and accessibility. Our results testify to the growing customer confidence in our models and give us incentive to continue with our strategy.
