Daihatsu Copen disguises itself as a Porsche 911
Identity crisis in progress for this original one-off presented in Japan. The fibreglass kit is reminiscent of a 997 generation
In addition to concepts and exclusive models destined for Japan, the Tokyo Auto Salon also featured some real oddities. Certainly, this unlike any other Daihatsu Copen with Porsche 911 'looks' did not go unnoticed.
Developed by the company StanceMagic, this weird kit promises to transform the body of the small Japanese sports car into something very close to the 991 generation 997.
Copen and Porsche give birth to a... "Copen"
The Copen has been renamed 'Coperche 811 GT-K', one of the most extravagant names ever given to a car. But beyond that, let's try to understand how StanceMagic managed to make such a kit.
Some evidence of this can be found on the company's official Instagram page, where all the various steps involved in the creation of the Daihatsu are shown. The project is based on the first generation Copen, of which only the windscreen, doors, mirrors and A-pillar have been retained. Everything else has been transformed thanks to a fibreglass bodykit that includes customised bumpers and a specific roof.
Other highlights include 997-style headlights and turn signals, combined with GT3-style bumper air intakes. At the rear, on the other hand, we find a pair of original taillights from a Porsche 996 and a massive rear wing for maximum downforce. Also noticeable is a large diffuser with twin exhaust tailpipes and purely decorative air intakes, as the engine is mounted at the front.
A one-off with attention to detail
As if that wasn't enough, the Daihatsu's cabin has also been updated with a set of shell seats and a roll bar, as well as suede upholstery and red inserts on the dashboard.
For an even more striking effect, the bodywork has been covered in an elegant livery, reminiscent of the Porsche 911 RSR Le Mans. Finally, the 'Coperche 811 GT-K' is fitted with a customised braking system and sports suspension.

A post from the Tokyo Auto Salon on X suggests that the model mounts a 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. We don't know the power output (or whether any mechanical work has been done to enhance performance), but we doubt it's the same as an original 911. The price? It is not stated by StanceMagic. We think, therefore, that this was a one-off project.
