All car anniversaries in 2025

From age 30 to 90, we discover the most important models and brands that will pass milestones in 2025

We all know, whether in private life or at work, there is always an anniversary or a birthday to celebrate and this is also true in the automotive world.

With the arrival of 2025 let's take a brief look back at the most important events of the new year, starting of course with the most iconic models that are about to turn 30 years old and will therefore soon be eligible for many classic car privileges, but not exclusively.

The 30th anniversary of the Fiat barchetta

Starting off with a bang, among the most important cars that will turn 30 in 2025, mention must surely go to the legendary BMW 5 Series (E39) and Z3, two of the most popular propeller cars ever with collectors, followed by the Fiat barchetta, the all-Italian spider written strictly with a lower-case 'b', by the Mercedes E-Class W210, the iconic four-headlamp star that has been greatly revalued by collectors all over the world in recent years, and, finally, by the Mercedes Sprinter, the large van from Stuttgart.

50 years of the BMW 3 Series

Moving on to the 50th anniversary, i.e. the models born in 1975, 2025 is the year of the BMW 3 Series, the E21, whose birthday will be celebrated by the company at the Concorso d'Eleganza in Villa d'Este. 2025 is also the year of the Ford Escort, born in '75, and the Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9.

Also within the same decade, 2025 will also see the 50th anniversary of the Volkswagen Polo, the German hatchback born in 1975 and quickly becoming a genuine best seller.

The brand was founded in 1909 under the name August Horch Automobilwerke GmbH, but was sold to Volkswagen in 1965 and became world famous in the following years with the Audi 72 and Audi 80.

One of the most important birthdays of 2025 is undoubtedly that of the Citroën DS, the world premiere of which took place on 5 October 1955 at the Paris Motor Show, during which it was shown for the first time with its futuristic shape combined with unusual hydropneumatic suspension.

Jaguar's 90th birthday

Finally, 2025 is also the year of Jaguar's 90th birthday. The British brand was founded in 1955 and its anniversary is anticipated in 2024 with the special edition F-Pace 90th Anniversary and the presentation of the first electric car, the Type 00.
