The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is about to be delivered to its first customers. The first customers will be able to park in their garages the Biscione custom-built car, which is currently undergoing its final homologation tests on the circular track at the Nardò Technical Centre in Puglia.

During the intense test session, according to the company, the car reached a top speed of 333 km/h (207 mph) announced at the presentation stage. Here are the details.

A very fast car

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale at the test track in Puglia was car number 00, one of the prototypes closest to the production model.

During the tests, the team of Alfa Romeo test drivers monitored and validated the most important dynamic parameters, such as aerodynamics, maximum engine operating temperatures, efficiency of the cooling systems, soundproofing of the passenger compartment and, of course, top speed. Result: the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale can touch 333 km/h (207 mph).

The tests carried out in Nardò followed an intense test session held a few weeks ago at the Proving Ground in Balocco (VC), on the iconic Stellantis Group track, during which the brakes' ability to adapt to different driving modes and guarantee deceleration from 62 mph to 0 in less than 33 metres was tested.

A unique circuit

The Nardò Technical Center (NTC), as we often mention on these pages when speaking mainly of Bugatti and Porsche, is one of the most advanced testing and experimentation centres in the world.

Although it is now owned by the Volkswagen Group, it was built in the 1970s by Fiat. It covers an area of 700 hectares and contains 20 test tracks for various kinds of experimentation and development activities, including the Nardò Ring, a ring 4 km in diameter and 12.6 km long, considered the fastest circular car track in the world.
