2012 Renault Megane RS 265 priced in UK

Renault has announced the Renaultsport 265 version for the facelifted 2012 Megane is now available to order in two versions. The Megane RS 265 Cup is priced at £24,825 OTR and the RS 265 at £26,025. Deliveries begin in early April.

Both models feature an increase in power of 15 bhp and 20 Nm (14.7 lb-ft) of torque to a total of 261 bhp (195 kW / 265 PS) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft). This was accomplished by increasing boost pressure by 0.2 bar to 2.5 thanks to the air intake being revised to take account of the higher pressure and running temperatures.

As a result, 0-100 km/h arrives in 6.0 seconds (instead of 6.1) and onto a top speed of 158 mph ; 254 km/h (+2 mph ; +3.2 km/h). In everyday driving its 360Nm is available between 3,000 and 5,000rpm thus rendering a power-to-weight ratio of 191hp per tonne.

Other new options include a Renaultsport 'Red Design Pack' which includes red striping on front blade, rear diffuser and side protection mouldings for £350, rear parking camera with front parking sensors for £360 and Visio System lane departure warning and auto high/low beam is available for £300. One new exterior color for 2012 is Arctic White.

There is also the Cup Chassis Pack available on the 265 for £1,350. It consists of 18-inch matt black alloys with 235/40 R18 95Y Michelin Sport 2 tires, slotted brake discs, limited slip differential, red brake calipers, stiffer springs/dampers and anti-roll bars.

Megane Renaultsport 2012 is eligible for the Renault 4+ customer care package with headline Renault Selections PCP offer of £419 deposit/£419 per month over four years for the 265 Cup version and £439/£439 for the 265.
