New Toyota RAV4, is that you?

The new Toyota RAV4 is expected to debut in 2025 and not a single official detail has been revealed. Sure, it will be a hybrid, but what about the styling? It seems that a first sight arrived on Weibo - a Chinese social network - and then landed on other platforms, the first photo of the Toyota RAV4 2025.

Given its provenance, it could well be the Toyota Wildlander, the Chinese version of the Japanese mid-size SUV, which in its current generation borrows much of the styling from the RAV4 sold in Europe, with the exception of some front-end details.

The new course

Even if it is the Wildlander, we can therefore get a first glimpse of the design of the new Toyota RAV4, albeit limited to the front and sides. Elements that are characterised by much more angular lines than the current generation and which, in the grille, partly echo the style of the Urban Cruiser, the electric compact SUV seen at the Brussels Motor Show 2025. It is a sign that Toyota design is ready to change.

The C-shaped front lights ideally embrace the upper part of the grille, which has a massive design with hexagonal slits at the bottom, while the sides feature generous air intakes.

The sides appear to be perfectly vertical, with a pronounced rib crossing them immediately above the sill and then rising to meet the rear pillar. The lines of the wheel arches are also squared off, giving the RAV4 2025 an even more massive appearance.

Always a hybrid

As far as the engines of the new Toyota RAV4 are concerned, there is no official information, but as mentioned, the presence of hybrid powertrains is a foregone conclusion. The choice should be between full hybrid and plug-in systems, with two or four-wheel drive, improved and made more efficient than the current generation.
