Mercedes GLB (2026): Rendering of the next generation SUV
It could have many technical similarities with the future CLA
In 2025, the CLA will be the first Mercedes of the "new era". The new generation of the Stuttgart saloon will be based on the MMA platform (Mercedes Modular Architecture), from which a series of new electric models will emerge.
These include the new GLB, which could come onto the market as early as 2026. The Mercedes, which was caught in Germany as a prototype during test drives, inspires our exclusive rendering.

Evolution under the sign of the CLA
The new GLB is expected to retain most of the proportions of the current generation and have a length of 4.60 to 4.70 metres. Judging by the first prototypes seen, the classic design will be continued, although there are likely to be innovations in some important details.
For example, the GLB could adopt some design elements first seen on the CLA, such as the new radiator grille (larger and "softer" in its lines) and the star graphic in the front and rear headlights. There are also new colour schemes, new alloy wheels and presumably flush, electrically extendable door handles for an even more aerodynamic flank.

There could also be similarities with the new CLA in the interior - starting with the new digital instruments and the infotainment system. The latter is integrated in the centre of the dashboard and therefore no longer protrudes.
Not just electric
It seems likely that the CLA and GLB, like the current models, will share different drive systems. The electric versions will be rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, with 272 PS and over 400 PS respectively. The batteries could be offered with a capacity of 58 kWh and 85 kWh, and the 800-volt architecture will enable very fast charging.
Mercedes EQB redesign (2023)
For various reasons (weight, aerodynamics), the maximum range of the Mercedes will probably be less than the 465 miles of the CLA saloon. However, it should be possible to achieve more than the 330 miles of the current EQB.
In addition to the electric variants, there could also be petrol mild hybrids based on a new 1.5 four-cylinder turbo engine with outputs of 136 PS, 163 PS and 190 PS, as in the CLA. These powertrains are equipped with an electric motor powered by a 48-volt lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.3 kWh. It enables the vehicle to drive emission-free in the city.
