Land Aircraft Carrier is a six-wheel van combined with an eVTOL aircraft

Part Tesla Cybertruck, part helicopter, Xpeng's flying electric car debuts at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. There, at the American event dedicated to new technologies, the vehicle is presented as a battery-powered van similar to Elon Musk's pick-up truck, but accompanied by an eVTOL (vertical take-off and landing vehicle).

Presenting it is Aero HT, a spinoff of the Chinese company that christens the creature with the name Land Aircraft Carrier. The company expects mass production in 2025 and deliveries in 2026, at a price not exceeding $300,000 (approx. £242,000).

Orders would already number more than 3,000 and would include both wealthy, thrill-seeking 'motorists' and rescue teams. The vehicle will be produced and launched in China, where Xpeng is building a factory with a capacity of 10,000 units per year. The country will serve as a test bed to assess demand for the vehicle and the possible expansion of sales to other regions. At the moment, however, productivity and seaworthiness certificates are lacking.

'Lunar Rover for Earth' (flying)

Rolling off the assembly line, the Land Aircraft Carrier will be able to either take to the streets or fly through the skies. In the first case thanks to the six-wheeled van, inspired - Xpeng reports - by a 'lunar rover for Earth', available in four colours and capable of accommodating as many passengers and recharging the eVTOL.

In the second case thanks to the matching flying vehicle, designed to be super-light, easy to pilot and show breathtaking landscapes through the panoramic cockpit. Powering it is an 800 volt silicon carbide platform.
