The cars we will be saying goodbye to in 2025
From the Alfa Romeo Giulia and the Stelvio Quadrifoglio to the Nissan GT-R, the Audi A4 and the Maserati Ghibli - here are the cars that will no longer be sold in 2025
The year 2024 is almost history. 2025 will not only bring a lot of new things our way, but we will also have to say goodbye to many cars that have reached the end of production or are being replaced by new generations. The respective manufacturers decided some time ago to renew or streamline their product range.
In some cases, they are focussing on purely electric vehicles, while others are leaving the door open for various electrification solutions. It's never a pleasant time to say goodbye, so get your tissues ready, because the list of 10 cars we won't be seeing again in 2025 includes some heartbreaking ones.
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
One of these is the top model in the Giulia series. With the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, the traditional Italian company returned to rear-wheel drive. It was 2015, Stellantis did not yet exist and Sergio Marchionne was at the helm of FCA. The 510 PS saloon was unveiled before the more basic versions to show the world what Alfa's mechanics and engineers were capable of.
Alfa Romeo Stelvio
Alfa Romeo Stelvio
The same happened with the Stelvio, Alfa Romeo's first SUV. The most powerful version is powered by a V6 engine derived from Ferrari. However, the Stelvio presented in 2016 was unable to assert itself in the segment occupied by the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC. The new generation based on the STLA Large platform and with electric or (apparently) range extender engines will be launched in 2025.
Audi A4
Audi A4 Avant
Of course, the Audi A4 is not going away completely. The long-running mid-range model from Ingolstadt moved up a number in 2024 and became the A5 - in line with Audi's philosophy: even numbers for electric cars, odd numbers for combustion cars. So the Audi A4 is temporarily retiring and awaiting its return as a battery-powered model.
Audi A5 Coupé and Convertible
Audi A5 Convertible
The two-door convertible and coupé variants will fall victim to the name change. These will no longer be part of the Audi range in 2025. The name A5 will therefore only be used for the saloon and estate. With the departure of the Audi A5 Cabrio, the last fresh air experience is also leaving the Ingolstadt-based company's programme.
Bugatti Chiron
Bugatti Chiron L Latest
The last Bugatti Chiron was delivered in May 2024, bringing an eight-year history to an end with 500 units built entirely by hand at the Molsheim plant in France. Its place is now taken by the Tourbillon, a fascinating 1,800 PS hybrid hypercar with a long naturally aspirated V16 engine.
Chevrolet Camaro
Chevrolet Camaro
It is the first non-European car on the list to be imported to the old continent; a true icon of the US automotive world. One of the most popular muscle cars of all time goes into the sunset after saying goodbye to its 4-cylinder engine last year.
Ferrari 812
Ferrari 812 Competizione
With the arrival of the 12-cylinder engine, the Ferrari 812 exits the scene, leaving its successor the task of keeping the myth of the V12 engine from Maranello alive. Until the launch of its successor, it was the most powerful non-electrified Ferrari in history, with 830 PS in the Competizione version, which was later supplemented by the 12Cilindri.
Ferrari Roma Coupé
Ferrari Rom
A Gran Turismo that - starting with its name - celebrates the Dolce Vita with a new design that impresses right from the start. Now the Ferrari Roma Coupé is preparing to say goodbye, while its successor (again with a V8) is set to debut in 2025.
Ferrari SF90 Stradale
Ferrari SF90 Stradale
The plug-in hybrid at the highest level, to drive a few miles in absolute silence or unleash more than 1,000 PS between the kerbs, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is the ultimate in power and performance from Maranello. It was not a car that was custom-built in a limited edition, but of course the more than £375,000 that had to be spent on it was not everyone's cup of tea.
Jaguar E-Pace
Jaguar E-Pace
A few days ago, Jaguar unveiled the concept that anticipates its stylistic and mechanical future: a very special electric coupé called Type 00, from which the next models will emerge. A rebirth that sends current production into retirement, leaving only the F-Pace as a representative of the old days. Goodbye to the E-Pace, the mid-size SUV that was destroyed by the German competition (and its "cousin" Range Rover Evoque).
Jaguar F-Type
Jaguar F-Type
The spiritual successor to the E-Type has captivated legions of enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike, especially with its supercharged V8 versions. One of the most beautiful cars of the 21st century, it was produced for the last time in June in two special versions.
Jaguar I-Pace
Jaguar I-Pace
With the I-Pace, a battery-powered crossover coupé, Jaguar switched to electric drive back in 2018, taking the first step in the company's revolution. With a range of 292 miles and a power output of 400 PS, it was upgraded at the beginning of 2023 and then retired.
Jaguar XF
Jaguar XF 300 Sport
The Jaguar XF was launched in 2008 under the ownership of Tata and was the successor to the much criticised S-Type, which was produced under the Ford banner. A classic saloon with sleek and elegant lines, it was updated in 2015 with the new generation.
Maserati Ghibli
Maserati Ghibli 334 Ultima
A farewell that was already announced in 2022 and will be finalised in 2025. Next year will be the first year without a Maserati Ghibli in production, after an 11-year career that went up and down and ended with the Maserati Ghibli 334 Ultima, the swan song of the three-pointed mid-size car and the fastest production saloon in the world.
Maserati Levante
Maserati Levante
The Maserati Levante already bid farewell on 31 March with the end of production at the Mirafiori plant. The trident's first SUV took the company's DNA (elegance and sportiness) to a new dimension and, although it did not outshine the German competition, had many admirers.
Maserati Quattroporte
Maserati Quattroporte grand finale
The Maserati Quattroporte Grand Finale marked the end of the career of the Maserati flagship, which was produced in five generations between 1963 and 2024. The successor - 100% electric - is due to be launched in 2025, but in early 2024 the company announced that the original schedule would be delayed due to a design revision.
Mini Clubman
MINI Clubman, the last example produced
Production of the Mini Clubman ended last February, so the first year without the small British estate will technically be 2025. It is a model that has been eclipsed by the success of the 3-door and the Countryman and whose place has been taken by the Aceman, which is only available with electric drive.
Porsche Boxster and Cayman
Porsche Boxster e Cayman
A distinction must be made between the two sporty two-seaters. The departure of the Porsche Boxster and Cayman actually only affects Europe, as they do not comply with the new EU cybersecurity regulations UNECE / R155 and R156. The successors are waiting in the wings and will be electric, although Northvolt's problems could delay their arrival.
