New Audi A7 hybrid previewed

Audi's strategy is two-pronged, both in terms of drive systems and names. The Ingolstadt-based company differentiates between electric and combustion models by labelling the former with even numbers and the latter with odd numbers. This is why we have seen an all-electric A6 in recent months and why the corresponding combustion version, which will be called the A7, will soon be unveiled.
The saloon, which is expected in 2025, will once again challenge the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. And this is what it could look like...
The A5 as a role model
While we wait for the first teaser photos and the official unveiling of the model, our rendering is already trying to give the new Audi a face. The proportions will be the same as ever: the A7 is almost 5 metres long and 2 metres wide, with high, clean flanks and a front end that looks unmistakably Audi.

We believe that the styling of the new A5 will also be seen on the future A7 with a very large hexagonal single-frame grille and sharply drawn LED headlights with customisable graphics. The wheels could be between 19 and 21 inches, while the rear could feature a full-width LED light bar.
Interior and engines
Inside, the A7 could take its cue from the Q6 e-tron and adopt the three-display configuration, consisting of the 11.9-inch instrument cluster, 14.5-inch infotainment and 10.9-inch passenger monitor.

As far as drive systems are concerned, the PPC platform allows electrified drive systems in all forms. This means that in the Audi MHEV Plus (a mild hybrid system that comes very close to a full hybrid) we will find petrol and diesel versions as well as plug-in hybrids (then in combination with a petrol engine) and corresponding versions with front-wheel and all-wheel drive.
The plug-in hybrids are likely to have batteries with a capacity of around 25 kWh and a range of more than 60 miles, and it cannot be ruled out that a high-performance version based on the RS 6 will come onto the market at a later date. This could also be electrified and have at least 600 PS.
The new Audi A7 will be launched as a saloon in the first half of 2025, the Avant version a few months later.
