Amazon Is Now Selling Certified Pre-Owned Fords
Dealers in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas can now list their certified pre-owned cars on Amazon, including cars from other brands.
It was two years ago this month when Hyundai announced it would sell new cars on Amazon, with the first listings appearing on the retailer’s website last December. Today, Ford is following suit. The company announced that it will allow its dealers to sell their certified pre-owned vehicles through Amazon.
Dealers maintain control over the pricing and service, but customers will be able to browse, finance, and purchase vehicles through Amazon and then schedule vehicle pickup at the dealership. Buyers will be able to browse available cars from participating Ford dealers within a 75-mile radius.
Listings will include itemized pricing, vehicle and service history, full specifications, and condition reports. Each car undergoes an inspection and can receive one of three types of certifications: Gold, EV, and Blue.
Gold cars, which are six years old or newer with less than 80,000 miles, receive a 172-point inspection and a 12-month, 12,000-mile Ford Blue Advantage limited warranty. EV certification includes a 127-point inspection but matches the Gold cert’s age/mileage requirements and warranty coverage.
Blue certified cars include Ford vehicles and models from other brands that are up to 10 years old with less than 150,000 miles. These vehicles receive a 139-point inspection and come with a 90-day, 4,000-mile limited warranty, which covers the engine, transmission, battery, and electrical system.
Roadside assistance is also included, and every CPO vehicle sold by a Ford dealer on Amazon Autos comes with a 14-day, 1,000-mile money-back guarantee.
Ford dealers in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas are the first to offer CPO vehicles on Amazon, with additional markets to follow soon. Ford dealers can offer their own options, such as extended service plans.
A quick look at the listings within 75 miles of LA reveals an assortment of available vehicles, including a 2018 Jeep Cherokee, a 2023 Chevrolet Suburban, a 2025 Hyundai Elantra, and a variety of used Ford models, such as a 2019 Mustang Bullitt for just under $40,000.
