The facelift of the HR-V and the new Prelude will be the focus of the Japanese next year

Honda 's 2025 lineup features some major changes. The main focus is on the HR-V, which for the new year is updated not only in terms of aesthetics, but also in terms of equipment, while maintaining the 1.5 full hybrid .

Also keep an eye out for the debut (or at least, the first information) of the Prelude, the hybrid sports coupé that will soon arrive in Europe.

Following its official debut in Japan in March, Honda has also announced the launch of the new version of the HR-V for Europe. This update of the compact crossover brings with it a number of visual and technical innovations. The HR-V 2025 is characterised by a redesigned radiator grille with more angular shapes and a refreshed rear light unit.

The interior remains largely unchanged from the previous model. Highlights include a 7-inch instrument cluster for the driver and a 9-inch touchscreen display for infotainment. The most important changes concern the centre console, which is now even more ergonomically designed.

There are no changes to the engine, which remains the 1.5-litre full hybrid with 131 PS. However, Honda has optimised the energy management system to improve efficiency and the driving experience.

Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2023, the Prelude will be launched as a production model between 2025 and 2026. It will be a sports coupé with a three-door body and will be based on the Civic, with which it shares architecture and engines. The elegantly designed coupé picks up on the philosophy of its predecessors of the same name from the 1980s and 1990s.

Under the bonnet will be a 210 PS full hybrid drive with rear-wheel drive. Further details are expected later this year, including prices and an exact date for the market launch in Europe.
