The new generation Alpine A110 will arrive in 2026 and will be 100% electric. This was confirmed by Luca De Meo, Renault Group CEO, in an interview with Autocar magazine, in which he also explained that the final car will be lighter than its petrol rivals, despite the weight of the zero-emission powertrain and battery.

A necessary investment

According to the Director, creating a new sports car like the second-generation Alpine A110 from scratch still required a huge financial investment, but one that is crucial to the brand's credibility.

To go into more detail, according to what De Meo and other company executives clarified during the interview, the new sports car will be based on a dedicated and entirely new platform, designed from scratch by French engineers, and will be - in the words of the director to Autocar - "lighter than a comparable car with a combustion engine, but without compromising on performance".

In terms of design, De Meo himself explained to the British magazine that the new A110 will continue to resemble the current A110 and the now "historic" first generation.

Alongside the arrival on the market of the new electric generation, the Alpine A110 currently on the market will be leaving the company's list for good.

According to Alpine CEO Philippe Krief, the target date for the 'transition' will be 2026, a year chosen precisely in anticipation of the end of production of a small series of cars for GSR2 regulations, since 95% of the 110 units of the A110 R Ultime have been sold to date.
