Skoda Kodiaq RS revealed: The sportiest version has 265 PS and 7 seats

Expected in 2025, here is the restyled Kodiaq RS, with the 2.0 TSI boosted to 265 PS. It can also be had with the third row of seats

All that was missing was this one. In the range of the revamped Skoda Kodiaq comes the RS variant, the sportiest one, with a non-electrified 2.0-litre TSI touching 265 PS. Thus, the Czech SUV remains practical and spacious, but also winks at those looking for a little more excitement, and an even more complete set-up. Yes, because in addition to pure power, the RS boasts even richer equipment.

Power Upgrades

Starting with the engine itself, the new model has 20 PS more than the previous RS. The total thus rises to 265 PS and 400 Nm, unloaded onto the ground on the four-wheel drive through the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Top speed is 144 mph, while the 0-62 mph sprint is 6.3 seconds (6.4 seconds if you opt for the 7-seater model). Also included in the equipment is the Dynamic Sound Boost system, which amplifies the sound of the engine in the cabin.

Immediately recognisable

The aesthetics of the Kodiaq RS are underlined by the gloss black finish for the grille surround, mirror caps and window profiles. Skoda lettering and the model name are in black, while the rear bumper and side sills are painted in body colour.

For the rest, we also find Matrix LED light clusters, 20-inch Elias alloy wheels and red brake callipers. Eight colours are available, including the new Bronx Gold Metallic.

On board, you can choose between two Design Selections, vRS Lounge and vRS Suite. In the first case, we find seats in perforated suede on the Skoda, while in the second full leather with ventilated seats. The 10-inch Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster and 13-inch infotainment are confirmed.

Standard equipment includes the DCC Plus Dynamic Chassis Control (which allows the trim to be customised in 15 different settings) and seven driving modes, including the Off-Road dedicated only to the RS.

Prices for the Kodiaq in RS format have yet to be announced, although they are expected to start at around £50-£55,000. First UK deliveries are expected to arrive in spring next year.
