Dodge has officially unveiled the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 at SEMA.
Designwise, the facelifted model features a larger front splitter, a modified front fascia, a body-color spoiler, and a new exhaust system. Inside, there's a new steering wheel and a revised instrument cluster.
Power comes from a new 6.4-liter HEMI V8 with 470 hp (350 kW / 477 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a five-speed automatic (a six-speed manual is optional), which enables the SRT8 to accelerate from 0-60 mph in the "high 4-second range" and hit a top speed in excess of 180 mph (290 km/h). Furthermore, despite boasting an additional 45 hp (34 kW / 46 PS) and 90 lb-ft (122 Nm), Dodge expects the new engine will be up to 20% more efficient than the old 6.1-liter V8 thanks to a variable intake manifold, multi-cylinder deactivation, and VVT technology.
Pricing starts at $45,080 and deliveries are scheduled for December.
