There’s something about the Prancing Horse. Something that stirs up particular emotions. Granted, those emotions are more often than not a certain kind of dread when you see how much they cost to buy and run.

That being said, there are a select (lucky) few for which money is no object, and that have gone on to spend crazy sums on classic Ferraris.

When you look at the list of the 10 most expensive cars ever sold at auction, a staggering seven of them are Ferraris – and all of them went for eye-watering eight-figure sums. That makes Ferrari’s most expensive new offering, the 812 Superfast, seem a little on the cheap side.
