The SUV has always competed well with contemporaries from other luxury brands, but typically the comparison leaned on Cadillac’s slightly more reasonable pricing to really hit home. These days, though the Escalade is still price competitive, the truck’s powertrain, ride, interior accouterments, and styling are all at or above the pace set by the Germans and Japanese.
