Shelby has unveiled its 2026 Super Snake—the most powerful Mustang in its lineup. Based on the current Mustang S650 platform, the Super Snake produces over 830 horsepower from its 5.0-liter V8 engine with the optional supercharger system. The Super Snake’s standard output remains unchanged from a stock Mustang GT at 480 hp.
The Super Snake also comes with an upgraded cooling system, a Borla exhaust, performance half shafts, Shelby’s suspension system, and upgraded Shelby brakes. The Super Snake is available with either the six-speed manual gearbox or the 10-speed automatic in both coupe and convertible configurations.
Manual-equipped cars receive a short-throw shifter. Shelby also adds hardened and extended wheel studs and 20-inch forged magnesium wheels.

In addition to the powertrain and suspension upgrades, the Super Snake also gets a distinct look that's more aggressive than any factory Mustang. It comes with a vented aluminum hood with hood pins and carbon-fiber extractors, and a carbon-fiber widebody kit that includes the front fenders, the front bumper, and the front fascia.
At the back, the Super Snake has a new carbon-fiber rear diffuser and a rear ducktail spoiler. Fastback models get a carbon-fiber era wing, while every car is available with Super Snake stripes and badges. Shelby will also tint your windows if your state allows.
Inside, the Super Snake features Shelby-embroidered floor mats, door sill plates, and embroidered seatbacks. It also comes with a serialized dash plaque, and manual-equipped models come with a Shelby shifter ball.

Motor1's Take: The 2026 Shelby Super Snake is expensive, and that doesn't include the optional supercharger system that increases the output. But the car features an assortment of other upgrades, including generous use of carbon fiber to lower the weight, so the Super Snake is more than just a visual makeover.
