Mini Silverdream: Micro camper with pop-top roof for two
Wanner motorhomes combine sophisticated design and self-sufficient equipment on 3.40 metres
German premium manufacturer Wanner, known for its exclusive Mercedes-Benz motorhomes, will surprise visitors to the CMT 2025 in Stuttgart with an unexpected new product: the Mini Silverdream. Motto: There's room even in the smallest cabin.
Based on the Mazda Scrum, a popular kei car in Japan, this compact motorhome is just 3.40 metres long. Despite its compact dimensions of 1.50 metres wide and 2.00 metres high, the Mini Silverdream offers a surprising amount of space for two people.
At the heart of the interior is a flexible seating area that easily converts into a comfortable double bed. A particular highlight is the pop-top roof, which opens to create standing height at the rear. The compact kitchenette has a sink and electric hob. There is no gas, but a 15-litre compressor fridge keeps food cool.
The Mini Silverdream is ideally equipped for self-sufficient camping: A 500 watt solar panel on the roof feeds a 500 Ah lithium battery. A 3,000 watt inverter powers all electrical appliances. The heating is diesel powered.
Under the bonnet is a 63 PS petrol engine that gives the Mini Silverdream a top speed of 50 to 55 mph. Selectable four-wheel drive provides extra traction off the beaten track.
A charming detail is the porthole in the body door, which not only lets extra light into the interior, but also adds a nautical touch. The micro camper is rounded off with plenty of storage space.
There are other interesting concepts in the growing micro camper market, such as the Honda N-Van Compo or the Suzuki Jimny converted by Smile Factory. But the Mini Silverdream stands out from the crowd with its cuddliness. Whether it is the Japanese charm of a kei car, its extensive equipment or its cuddly appearance, it makes you want to pinch its cheeks.
