The vanexxt Caravelle, which is celebrating its premiere at CMT 2025 in Stuttgart, presents itself as a versatile camper van based on the new VW Transporter. It cleverly combines the everyday practicality of a van with the comfort of a motorhome.

The centrepiece of the vehicle is its modular conversion concept. The interior can be flexibly reconfigured so that it can be used both as an everyday vehicle with up to seven seats and as a fully-fledged leisure vehicle with four sleeping berths. The standard equipment includes swivelling front seats and a pop-up roof.

The flexibility of the vanexxt Caravelle is particularly evident in the interior. The innovative rail system makes it possible to move seats, cupboards and even the kitchen unit as required or to remove them completely. This allows the interior to be optimally adapted to the respective needs - whether for a family outing, a week's shopping or a longer camping trip.

As with the base vehicle, modern technical solutions are available. These include a 12-inch digital instrument display and a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen. LED headlights and advanced driver assistance systems are also part of the equipment.

Two engine options are available: 150 PS with front-wheel drive or 170 PS with all-wheel drive, both with 8-speed automatic transmission. The vanexxt version is available with both a long and a short wheelbase. The all-wheel drive version is particularly suitable for adventure-seekers who also want to travel off-road.

A special feature is the ability to keep the overall height under two metres. Without the pop-up roof, the Caravelle measures 1.98 metres. There are two roof options for camping enthusiasts: a Reimo sleeping roof or a Polimer roof. In combination with a lowered roof, the Polimer roof also enables a vehicle height of less than two metres. This option is particularly interesting for city dwellers who want to drive through underground car parks or height restrictions without any problems. Both roofs offer a sleeping area of 1.18 m x 1.95 m.

The equipment variants range from the "Caravelle Life" with parquet flooring and flexible rail system to the more extensive "Caravelle Panamericana" with additional auxiliary heating and touchscreen for controlling the lighting and heating. The Panamericana variant also offers a more robust exterior look reminiscent of off-road vehicles, giving the camper van an adventurous look.

The rear area is freely configurable with options such as a three-seater bench seat, narrow bench seat, individual seats or empty storage space. The kitchenette can be customised with a cooker, fridge and sink. The optional rear pull-out, which offers additional storage space and can also be used as an outdoor kitchen, is particularly practical.

The price of the vanexxt Caravelle varies depending on the equipment. An example model with a 150 PS engine, small kitchen block, sleeping facilities below and Reimo pop-up roof costs just under €70,000 (approx. £60,000) without any other extras after the current discount. Despite the not inconsiderable price, the Caravelle offers good value for money, especially when you consider its versatility and high-quality equipment.

With its combination of flexibility, comfort and modern technology, the Vannext Caravelle positions itself as an attractive option for anyone looking for a versatile vehicle for everyday use and travelling. It bridges the gap between the classic van and a fully-fledged motorhome.
