Former England rugby captain named Jaecoo’s first UK ambassador
The Chinese invasion in Britain continues.
Former England rugby captain Chris Robshaw has swapped his scrum cap for a steering wheel, becoming Jaecoo's inaugural UK ambassador, affectionately dubbed 'Mr J'. This unexpected partnership sees the ex-Harlequins stalwart diving into the automotive arena for the remainder of 2025.
Robshaw, who hung up his boots in October 2022 after a distinguished career, is no stranger to leadership. He captained England from 2012 to 2015, earning 66 caps, 43 as skipper. Now, he's steering into uncharted territory with Jaecoo, a brand making its UK debut with plans to launch five new models this year.

This collaboration isn't just a solo run. Jaecoo's parent company, Omoda & Jaecoo, recently teamed up with European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR), the organisers of the Investec Champions Cup and Challenge Cup. Robshaw's role as 'Mr J' aims to amplify this partnership, blending the worlds of high-octane rugby and innovative automotive design.
As part of his ambassadorial duties, Robshaw will be behind the wheel of a Jaecoo 7 Super Hybrid System model, finished in a sleek Granite White and boasting luxury specifications. It's a far cry from the muddy pitches of Twickenham, but if anyone can bridge the gap between rucks and rims, it's ‘Mr J’ himself.
“I’m delighted to team up with Jaecoo as the UK’s ‘Mr J’ for 2025 – a year that promises to be very exciting and instrumental in the company’s growth in the UK,” Chris Robshaw commented. “Omoda & Jaecoo’’s association with the EPCR is a clear indication of how the automotive and sporting industries can thrive together, and I am delighted to play a part in amplifying that partnership throughout 2025.”
