Land Rover 2025: All the upcoming models
2025 will be the year of the first electric Range Rover. We may also have the first details on the company's second battery-powered model
Land Rover is going all-electric for 2025. The British brand is finishing testing the Range Rover EV and continues to work on a second battery-powered model planned for the near future.
So let's take stock and see what's new this year.
Electric Range Rover
The electric Range Rover and desert testing
2025 should be the year to see the first electric Range Rovers on the road. Since the model's unveiling in 2023, the battery-powered British SUV has undergone extensive testing in many different conditions, while the waiting list has grown to - according to the company - 16,000 orders.
Not much is known about the first electric Range Rover. Land Rover has revealed that the model will be based on the MLA-Flex platform, used for the internal combustion engine versions, while the architecture will be 800V to allow very fast recharging.
The aesthetics of the battery version will change little compared to its petrol counterparts. Same goes for off-road capabilities, with the Range Rover EV being able to ford waterways up to 85 cm high, like the Defender.

Electric Range Rover Velar
However, in addition to the electric Range Rover, the British manufacturer plans to launch another smaller battery-powered SUV. A preview of this model arrived in recent months thanks to a CarSpyMedia spy video, which shows a Land Rover engaged in some testing at the Nurburgring.
The name of this Land Rover is unknown, although aesthetically there seem to be some references to the Velar. It is also true that the brand might opt for a completely different name to differentiate the two models.
The presentation is expected to take place in 2026, but it is likely that some photos or teaser videos will be shown as early as 2025.
