Everyone is aware of the existence of video games that simulate car driving, be it F1, rally or GT, more or less accurately and more or less realistically, to the extremes of virtual reality. But perhaps not everyone knows that in the vast field of simulations there is also that of truck driving. The game is called Euro Truck Simulator, now in its second generation (Euro Truck Simulator 2) and it is developed by SCS Software.

The news these days is that the new Iveco S-Way, the flagship of the Turin-based brand that arrived in dealerships at the end of 2024, is now also available in virtual form. Thanks to a collaboration between SCS Software and the IVECO Design Centre, the iconic Iveco S-Way has found new life in the digital world, offering players a truly realistic and immersive experience.

The difficulty of replicating the S-Way

As Pamela Paratico, Iveco's Branding & Marketing Director, said, the entry of the Iveco S-Way into the world of Euro Truck Simulator 2 has been eagerly awaited by the gaming community, and from the feedback being received the impact has been positive.

Marco Armigliato, Head of Design Centre, Iveco Group, added how bringing the Iveco S-Way into Euro Truck Simulator 2 was a truly exciting challenge for the entire team, not only in faithfully replicating the truck's physical characteristics, but in capturing the essence of its design philosophy: innovation, efficiency, functionality and driver comfort.

The features of the digital truck

The simulator includes the tractor-semi-trailer configuration of the latest generation of S-Way for long-distance transport, equipped with the Active Space cab. The Iveco S-Way in Euro Truck Simulator 2 offers a high level of authenticity. Players can customise their truck with 22 pre-configured base colours, including the distinctive metallic launch green, as well as a selection of interior upholstery. Further customisation is available through a range of accessories, including various options for fuel tanks and the grille.

What the game consists of

Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) is a driving simulator developed by SCS Software that allows players to live the experience of a professional truck driver. Since its debut in 2012, the title has become a benchmark for fans thanks to its realism and great customisability.

The game is based on two main pillars: driving and management. Players transport goods across a road network covering more than 20 European countries, exploring landscapes, cities and infrastructure recreated with great attention to detail. The level of simulation is high: weather conditions, fuel consumption, maintenance and traffic rules are an integral part of the experience.

The available fleet of trucks includes official models from seven of Europe's leading brands (DAF, Iveco, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Scania and Volvo Trucks) that can be customised in every detail. In addition to driving, players can expand their company, hire employees and manage resources to grow their logistics empire.
