How much does the most exclusive used McLaren Senna cost?
Behind this catchy title is an opportunity to introduce you to the very first model of the McLaren Senna, currently on sale!
It's not just any McLaren Senna that has just arrived on the auction market specialising in exceptional vehicles. Chassis #001 is now on the market and looking for a buyer!
This car has just 1,020 miles on the clock and was first unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and named after the late Ayrton Senna in tribute to his three Formula 1 World Championships with McLaren between 1988 and 1993.
This sharp, determined car has been designed with one main objective in mind: to be the fastest, most track-focused road car McLaren has ever produced. It's a fitting tribute, to say the least.

Unlike its forerunner, the P1, the Senna has dispensed with any hybrid system or electric assistance, opting instead for a modified version of McLaren's own 4-litre twin-turbo V8, codenamed the M840TR. This engine is a technical feat in itself, as it is the most powerful engine ever installed in a McLaren road car, producing 799 PS and 800 Nm of torque, transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
It's a highly advanced engine, featuring a dry sump lubrication system, lightweight connecting rods and pistons, a pair of ultra-low inertia twin-scroll turbochargers with electronic particulate filters for instant throttle response and a bespoke carbon fibre intake chamber, feeding cool air through the motorsport-designed roof scoop.
Much of this 799 PS would be superfluous if the chassis wasn't also superbly capable of taming such power. That's where active aerodynamics come in. The front is dominated by a huge, functional splitter with large air intakes featuring active fins to channel the air under the bodywork.

Warm air from the radiators is channelled out the rear, up and over the roof, deliberately avoiding the roof scoop before flowing over the huge active rear spoiler. The spoiler itself is hydraulically controlled and constantly shifts according to the driving scenario, either acting as an airbrake that lifts 90° to increase downforce and braking power, or reducing drag as part of an F1-derived active drag reduction system (DRS).
The rear end is further enhanced by a twin diffuser and a second fixed lower wing, which are fed with exhaust air from the slatted bonnet. The results of this aerodynamic concoction were remarkable. At 155 mph, the Senna can produce 800 kg of downforce, a seemingly impossible 40% increase on the already efficient McLaren P1.
The other performance statistics to which the Senna can lay claim are no less impressive: 0-62 mph dispatched in 2.8 seconds. Dry weight is just under 1,200 kg. It therefore eclipses even the P1 in terms of power-to-weight ratio, while offering far greater downforce.
The McLaren Senna on offer here is truly special, even in the context of a Senna. It is the XP01, VIN #0001, making it the very first Senna ever produced. Not to be confused with the first customer car, which is painted blue and white, this is a uniquely specified example that incorporates almost every conceivable element of the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) bespoke and optional equipment list.
The auction house offering it online hopes to fetch a minimum of £1 million. It is likely that buyers interested in this unrivalled model in the Senna range will bid much higher to make it their own.
