The BYD Sealion 7 is the Chinese manufacturer's new electric coupe SUV. Based on the new 3.0 platform, it has a rather generous 2.93 metre wheelbase that allows it to accommodate the Blade batteries and provide a rather spacious cabin.

The interior of this new D-segment electric crossover, in fact, as well as being well-finished, offers plenty of space and is equipped with a lot of technology, such as the company's new state-of-the-art infotainment system. Here are all the details. And don't forget to check out the recently announced UK pricing for the Sealion 7.

Entry for those sitting both front and rear is very comfortable. In fact, this new zero-emission SUV has a door opening with very wide angles that allow easy access to the cabin in any situation.

Once you get on board, you find yourself immersed in a very technological cabin, with a dashboard with clean lines, equipped with two screens: one for the on-board computer and one for the infotainment system, the first 10.25 inches and the second 15.6 inches (an almost record size for the segment), which can also be rotated vertically.

Speaking of ergonomics, then, as anticipated and as on most BYD cars, the central screen can be rotated and is combined with a central tunnel with clean lines and some physical buttons useful in daily use. The icing on the cake, finally, is the dual smartphone wireless charging plate with cooling.

BYD Sealion 7, materials and finish

The perceived quality on board the BYD Sealion 7 is very good, both in terms of seats and door panels.

In general, the cabin is covered in soft-touch materials, combined with good leather and rubberised surfaces. The same quality materials of the front are also found in the rear, which also boasts a totally flat floor made possible thanks to the electric nature of the design.

What do you think?

With a width of 1.95 metres and a height of 1.62 metres, the Sealion 7 has, as mentioned, a wheelbase of 2.93 metres, which gives it very good interior roominess, a feature inherited from the new 3.0 platform developed by the manufacturer. More generally, in fact, both leg and headroom are not lacking for all occupants and are combined with a boot with a capacity in line with the segment.

The reference load value of the BYD Sealion 7 is 520 litres to be precise, a number that can, of course, be increased by folding down the second row seats to a value of 1,789 litres. Not to be forgotten is the 58-litre front boot on all versions of the Sealion 7. Finally, the loading sill is low and very convenient for loading luggage.
