Alublack converts your pickup into a brilliant 4x4 camper
The South African company has several models with all kinds of comforts for living away from civilisation.
The world of camping with your vehicle is all the rage, and there are all kinds of variants and most importantly for all budgets. From luxurious motorhomes to modestly converted camper vans, any option is valid if you want to relax in the middle of nature for a few days.
In all this diversity, we want to show you the proposal of a South African manufacturer, Alublack, which has a surprising catalogue of products to transform a pickup into a 4x4 camper capable of facing any situation or scenario. And the best thing is that their modules can be adapted to different models of Toyota or Jeep, for example.

What do the Alublack modules offer? Well, everything you need to 'survive' a few days away from any contact with mankind. On top of the pick-up box, a metal-framed box is installed, which, depending on the model, can house anything from the kitchen to an autonomous energy module, powered by the solar panels installed on the roof of the rooftop tent.
If the client prefers, this module can also be left open-plan to transport material or be converted into an additional bed.
And if you need extra space, the entire module can be installed on an off-road trailer towed by the pick-up. In case you are one of those who need to bring an extra vehicle to 'explore' the surroundings of the camping area (a motorbike for example), don't worry, because Alublack also allows you to bring that vehicle or motorbike on a special trailer.
As you can see in the pictures, the Alublack models have a folding awning that protects from the sun or rain, takes up little space and folds down or stows away quickly. The same is true of the roof tent, with a rigid cover, installed on top. It is set up as quickly as it is folded down.
So if you own a Toyota Hilux or Land Cruiser 70 Series, a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, a Ford Ranger or an Isuzu D-Max, whether single or double cab, Alublack has something for you. Each assembly swaps the original pick-up bed for the Alublack tray, mounted on the vehicle chassis using galvanised steel fittings with integrated vibration damping.
In the main module, we can find (depending on the version chosen) a pull-out Engel fridge/freezer, a 205 Ah lithium battery system, an electric inverter, a water heater and pump, and an air compressor, as well as a sliding double-burner gas cooker, drawers, a sliding pantry with extendable worktops and an oven with air fryer.
Also, instead of a rigid stainless steel sink, Alublack installs a pair of folding bowls at the rear, next to the gas tank holder, just below a hot water outlet. The bowls can be disassembled and folded for easy transport. As for the water, it is stored in an 80 or 160 litre tank.
Finally, let's talk about prices. Being a South African company, sales and distribution in Europe is complicated. In its country of origin, the price range is between 16,950 dollars (£13,350) and 22,950 dollars (£18,000).
Taxes and transport costs should be added to these amounts. For more information, please visit the manufacturer's website below.
