2024 BMW X4: Dimensions and boot of the Munich coupé-SUV

The current generation BMW X4 could be the last one ever. The dimensions are D-segment SUV, as is the roominess.

  • Length: 4,751 mm
  • Width: 1,918 mm
  • Height: 1,621 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,864 mm
  • Luggage compartment: 525 - 1,430 litres

The second generation of the BMW X4, project designation G02, came to market in 2018 as a sloped roofline version of the BMW X3 G01 on the CLAR platform.

Still currently on the market, it could be the last X4 in the German manufacturer's history, so as always, we find out in this short in-depth look how big it is in concrete terms, remembering that among its main competitors are models such as the new Audi Q5 Sportback, Mercedes GLC Coupe, both recently renewed, and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Dimensions

The current BMW X4 is 4.75 metres long, 1.92 metres wide, and 1.62 metres high, with a rather generous wheelbase for a combustion car of an impressive 2.86 metres, a figure that ensures good roominess for those sitting in the back.

Space and boot capacity

The current BMW X4, perhaps the last ever produced by the manufacturer, is a premium D-segment mid-size SUV with plenty of on-board space - as always in this category - for both front and rear passengers. But that is not all. Among its features is also a load compartment suitable for families who don't want to miss out on occasional trips out of town.

What do you think?

And speaking of the latter, capacity starts at a minimum of 525 litres in a five-seat configuration and goes up to 1,430 litres by folding down the second row of seats.

Similarly dimensioned competitors

The main direct rivals of the BMW X4 G02 are first and foremost its famous German rivals, namely the Audi Q5 Sportback and the Mercedes GLC Coupé, both of which have recently been restyled. Looking outside the German borders, on the other hand, we find the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, also with a rather descending tail.

Model Length Luggage compartment
Mercedes GLC Coupé 4.76 metres 545 litres
Audi Q5 Sportback 4.71 metres 510 litres
Alfa Romeo Stelvio 4.68 metres 530 litres
