A spy video shows us how the Kia EV4, coming in 2025, fares on the track.

Kia is preparing electric models for all tastes and the EV2 and EV9 GT (revealed just recently) will arrive in 2025. Also in development is the EV4 which, like the brand's other battery-powered vehicles, is expected to adopt the latest version of the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

A prototype was previewed last year by some spy photos and now in a video, we see another one in action. It is a hatchback, but the EV4 will also be offered as a saloon.

Endurance tests at the Nurburgring

At the Nurburgring, the new EV4 is undergoing endurance tests, and in the approximately four-minute video we can see how it handles through the bends. Although it is still too early to talk about performance, the range of the EV4 should consist of several electric motor versions (up to 200 bhp) with two battery sizes (the most powerful should be close to 82 kWh and guarantee a maximum range of 370 miles).

It is very interesting to see that the current prototype is quite faithful to the mule glimpsed in the August 2023 spy photos. The latter, in fact, resembled the EV4 Concept, with proportions comparable to those of the Polestar 2.

In that case, the exterior was heavily camouflaged, with only the three-spoke wheels and the front headlights, which appeared to be oriented vertically on the outer edges, clearly visible. Everything else was covered.

The prototype at the Nurburgring makes us realise that behind the lights the design is very similar to that of the concept and the front will remain just as faithful to the anticipated lines. These are all elements that recall the styling of the EV5 and EV9
