The Lexus GX Overland Concept is a cool creation by the brand's Canadian division that's debuting at the Montreal International Auto Show. The rig is a luxurious way to journey into the wilderness, and then the roof-mounted tent adds a place to sleep for the night.

The concept starts as a 2020 GX 460 Executive Package. The deployable tent includes an extending awning and a shower cube for keeping fresh in the wilderness. Lexus equips it with dark, two-tone wheels and knobby Toyo off-road tires. The company also lifts the ride height with Icon suspension components. For extra protection, there are skid plates underneath the body and rock rails on the sides.
Lexus paints the body in a shade of light blue. There's a topographical map graphic decorating the rear of the body. At the back, there's a carrier for a full-size spare wheel.
Inside the GX concept looks stock. Red leather covers the seats, and the door panels are black. Passengers in the rear seats get their own entertainment screens.
The GX Is Luxurious And Rugged:
There is also no indication of powertrain tweaks. The SUV comes with a 4.6-liter V8 making 301 horsepower (225 kilowatts) and 329 pound-feet (446 Newton-meters) of torque. It runs through a six-speed automatic to a full-time four-wheel-drive system. The images show that this one has the optional terrain select and crawl control features.
There's no indication that Lexus intends to build GX Overland Concept. However, all of the components appear to be off-the-shelf components. So, there's nothing stopping an owner from creating something a lot like this.

This is more than a concept – it’s also a prototype: At the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, Lexus announced the production model LC 500 Convertible will go on sale later this year.
The Lexus GX Overland Concept – Canadian Premiere
The 2020 GX460 is our interpretation of “Beauty meets Beast”. And the Lexus GX Overland Concept pushes the limits of the idea and the emergence of luxurious camping.
What better way to explore the great Canadian outdoors than in a new 2020 GX – with its 4.6L V8, new standard off-road features and the only model in its class with true body-on-frame construction. This gives GX unparalleled strength while still providing the driver and guests with the un-paralleled Lexus luxury experience.
Starting with a production-model 2020 GX 460 Executive Package, the GX Overland concept adds a quick deploying rooftop tent with bed, a large awning,and a shower cube to facilitate remote exploration in comfort. It is also equipped with unique tires, wheels and suspension with more travel and external reservoirs. A unique front winch bumper as well as full underbody and side body armour was also added to help to keep this eye-catching GX moving in pristine condition.
