2018 Ford Mustang Convertible by MAD Industries
Obviously SEMA is the place to display your wildest inner visions of car design, which probably explains the slammed stance and white / green paint you see on this EcoBoost convertible.
Performance upgrades include Borla exhaust a Ford Performance cold-air intake, and six-piston caliper front brakes from Wilwood. You’re going to want the stopping power of 15-inch front rotors, when you’re not too busy stopping traffic.
2018 Ford Mustang GT Convertible by SpeedKore Performance Group
Yet another convertible – though this one V8 powered – but this Mustang has more of a retro vibe. The tuning house has blended performance signifiers likes 20-inch wheels and carbon fiber aero trim, with what it calls a “classic American roadster theme.”
All we can say for sure is it’ll be fast; the Roush supercharger and titanium exhaust should see to that.
2018 Ford Mustang 729 Wide Body TriAthlete by Roush Performance
That “729” in the overbearing concept car name is the only important part, as it stands for 729 horsepower, created by way of a Roush supercharger bolted to the 5.0 V8. (Never mind the 10-speed automatic transmission… we’ll learn to live with it.)
Brembo brakes, a three-way adjustable suspension, and huge Continental Extreme Contact rubber all give us the indication that this Roush is constructed to effectively handle all of that power, too. But we’ll need some seat time, a few tanks of gas, and a police escort to figure out, for sure.
2018 Ford Mustang Fastback by Tucci Hot Rods
These hot rod builders had one goal for SEMA: Make a 200-mile-per-hour Mustang. At heart this fastback is a 5.0-liter Mustang GT, but it’s been shaped and tuned to hit that supercar speed.
No power is specified by the biturbocharging of the Mustang’s standard V8 should make for awesome output. Beyond that, the game is all about reducing drag by way of the apparent body modifications, and then, well, just keep your foot down until you hit the double ton.
2018 Ford Mustang Fastback by DeBerti Design
Yet another take on a Mustang Fastback, the DeBerti car stands out by way of its massive rear haunches. Those exploded rear fenders just barely cover massive, 18-inch-wide Micky Thompson tires, perfect for a car aimed at the drag strip.
Call us purists, but we’re more excited that this hopped up pony comes with a manual transmission, than we are for its exterior/interior paint by Sherwin Williams. (Call us when we start our kitchen remodel)
2018 Ford Mustang GT Fastback by Air Design
Of course, this EcoBoost ‘Stang has some performance upgrades (brakes, exhaust, etc.), but builder Air Design would much rather you focus on its easy-to-install body kit pieces. The company specializes in parts to personalize your whip, like the bumper redux, side skirts, fender vents, and big front splitter you see here.
2018 Ford Mustang Fastback by DRAGG
Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti… in case you were wondering. (Wouldn’t it have just been easier to let the graffiti be, and spell “drag” correctly?)
In any event, this “guardian-themed” Mustang isn’t really a cop car, but it is aimed as a sort of tribute to law enforcement officers everywhere. We’d be happier if it had a shotgun holster and a bad-guy lockup in that tight rear seating area, but we’re happy with the black and white paint scheme, at least. But don’t expect it to chase down the other cars on this list; there’s a EcoBoost 2.3T under the hood, not a fire-breather.
