2016 Ford Mustang EcoBoost | Why Buy?
Will the turbocharged Mustang live up to our V8 expectations?
–Detroit, Michigan
The Ford Mustang SVO became a kind of a cult car, in part because the notion of a Pony Car powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine seemed so outrageous. It was a non sequitur, an outlier, a change in the matrix.
Now, of course, it’s the new normal. Ford has EcoBoosted the breadth of its lineup, and 2.0-liter turbos are stacking up like cordwood around the industry. Hell, even the Camaro has one.
But the bandwagon vote isn’t good enough for you, is it, Motor1 car shopper? It’s not simply enough to know that the Mustang EcoBoost isn’t alone in the world, but rather to understand if it’s any damn good. Or, at least, is it good enough at carrying forward the brand values that have made the Mustang a strong seller for decades.
That’s why we Why Buy? isn’t it? In out latest installment we break down the Mustang EcoBoost, and tell you how it stacks up. Watch the video above, and tune in here (or subscribe to our YouTube channel) to see a new iteration, every Thursday.
