The goal of our Why Buy? series is to give actual car shoppers good, detailed information on models that get purchased a lot (or should, at least). This video strays from that formula somewhat.

The 2017 Audi R8 is spectacular, wicked quick, and ungodly expensive. Toyota will no doubt sell more Camry’s on a holiday weekend than the entire total production run for this second-generation German supercar, but who cares.

We spent a couple of weeks in the company of Audi’s V10-powered flagship; drove it on the mean streets of Detroit, Instagrammed it with loving adulation, and even rolled up to our high school class reunion in it. The least we can do is lavish it with a proper video buyers guide.
