Ford Performance Has a New Name
Ford Performance is becoming Ford Racing, to better reflect the company's motorsport ambitions.
This week, Ford Performance announced a major change to give its image an overhaul. From now on, Ford Performance will be known as Ford Racing, as it continues to venture further into motorsport.
In a press release, Will Ford, the General Manager of Ford Racing, emphasized the company's mission, calling it more than just a rebranding exercise. “This is the wholesale reintroduction of our racing brand and signals a completely new way of thinking about the business, brand, and products that our racing efforts bring to life.”
Ford said we’ll see the full new Ford Racing identity come to life starting in January, when it participates in the Dakar Rally and the Rolex 24 in Daytona, Florida. A launch event will kick off the racing season.
The company is getting ready to venture into Formula 1 with Red Bull Powertrains, as well as gear up for a return to prototype endurance racing with a new LMDh car in 2027. It is already involved in rally racing, NASCAR, IMSA, WEC GT3, and Australian Supercars.
Although Ford Racing will see internal changes, that does not extend to Mark Rushbrook. He will remain the global director as it transitions from Ford Performance, with the intent of covering both racing and road car operations.
For now, we get a new name and logo. More details should come to light before the Dakar Rally in January 2026.
