A man recently shared his bad memories of working at Enterprise Rent‑A‑Car. The post inspired swarms of former employees from the company to share their own horror stories.

“The worst job I’ve ever had in my adult life is working at Enterprise Rent‑A‑Car,” TikToker Kenny J (@kennyjtv_) says in the clip. “It’s one of those things where if you know, you know.”

Kenny J then details how he took the job straight out of college and started working “60 hours a week” for $15-per-hour. He describes washing cars “in suits.”

“Whenever I see someone who worked at Enterprise, it’s like, ‘Dude you made it out of the trenches,’” he says. He further describes it as "the worst job I ever had."

As of this writing, his TikTok has racked up over 500,000 views, 14,000 likes, and nearly 1,000 comments.

'The Worst Job I Ever Had'

Negative reviews on Glassdoor, a website that chronicles employee experiences at different companies, emphasize that workers toil for long hours and struggle with work-life balance.

The reviews do emphasize positive relationships between colleagues at the company. Although some locations of Enterprise feature a few employees represented by the Teamsters union, the vast majority of its workforce has no union protections.

People who claimed to work for Enterprise at different times of their life flocked to Kenny J’s post to tell their own stories, racking up thousands of likes of their own. It turned the comment section into what user TYMEER called “basically an AA meeting.”

“What did they do to yall,” PeterDC wrote. “I worked with two [former] Enterprise guys and they would exchange stories like it was Vietnam.”

Many users wrote about how good it felt to finally leave the job.

“Escaping Enterprise is like escaping Scientology. It’s a cult [for real],” a user named Justin wrote.

A user named Tori E. said she remembered washing cars in business clothing.

“Literally had me washing cars in a blouse and going to pick up strangers!!!” she wrote.

It opened up a new discussion about women driving alone to pick up male customers.

“I had no business being 21 years old picking up GROWN creepy men alone,” user609734212221 wrote.

While one person suggested a “class action lawsuit,” many others acknowledged that the coworkers they met were indeed great, underlining strong camaraderie among Enterprise’s workforce.

“The worst job, best coworkers. One thing they know how to do is recruit,” a user named Drea wrote.

Update July 23: Via email, an Enterprise spokesperson told Motor1, "Our Management Trainee team members have a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of our operations. Everything from sales, marketing, finance and customer service. The program is all about preparing them hopefully for extended careers at Enterprise Mobility (+90% of our leadership started in the Management Training program), or to help develop the leadership skills to support wherever their career journey might take them."
