This Chinese electric van is coming to the UK next year

It will be sold in other European countries as well.

Jameel Motors has teamed up with Zhejiang Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group (Farizon Auto) to bring a shiny new lineup of electric vans to Britain. The first batch is set to hit the road in 2025, and these aren’t your granddad's delivery vehicles – they’re smarter, greener, and packed with tech that might make your laptop jealous.

Farizon Auto might sound like a new superhero alias, but it’s actually a Chinese automotive company that’s been shaking things up since 2016. With its laser focus on zero emissions and user-friendly technology, Farizon has become a trailblazer in the world of commercial electric vehicles. Now, they’re taking their talents to the UK with a flagship model called the SV large van.

Let’s talk tech specs. The SV is no slouch in the battery department, thanks to something called “cell-to-pack technology.” What does that mean for you? Ten per cent more battery capacity, a lighter vehicle, and a more rigid body. Oh, and it’s rocking a dual-redundancy drive-by-wire system. Translation: it (probably) brakes faster, steers more precisely, and gets better range – all while carrying heavier loads.

From the get-go, the SV will come in three lengths, three heights, and two battery sizes (67 kWh and 83 kWh). A beefy 106-kWh option will join the party later. Pricing and specs are still under wraps, but with a setup like this, expect it to make some waves in the UK’s £1.6 billion-a-day light commercial vehicle (LCV) market.

Jameel Motors isn’t stopping with the UK. This partnership is part of a bigger plan to introduce Farizon to other countries, too. More information, including pricing, will be announced in the first months of 2025 prior to a full market launch later in the year.
