Dacia Duster Soul of Dakar: The Dakar-inspired one-off
The unique example has a livery that echoes the style and colours of the official livery on the prototype that will compete in 2025
The 47th edition of the Dakar Rally will take place from 3 to 17 January 2025 in Saudi Arabia and among the many car manufacturers participating with a dedicated team will be Dacia.
To celebrate its presence at the iconic race with the Sandrider concept, the company has unveiled a special one-off in these hours. It is called the Dacia Duster Soul of Dakar and has been customised inside and out with a number of accessories and a unique livery. Here are the details.
A truly unique Duster
Starting with the exterior, the Dacia Duster Soul of Dakar one-off features a livery created by the company's style centre, designed to echo the style and colours of the official Sandrider.
The designers have chosen to install many accessories from the official InNature range, such as a roof rack that makes use of the repositionable roof bars, a weatherproof glove box, a soft, waterproof duffel bag and a shovel.
Inside, on the other hand, this special one-off has been fitted with the full range of YouClip accessories, such as several light points throughout the passenger compartment, bag hooks, several phone holders and some cup and tablet holders.
With mild hybrid engine and 4x4
Obviously under such a well-prepared prototype there could be no lack of all-wheel drive, and in fact the company's engineers opted for the powertrain made up of the 1.2-litre three-cylinder with a 48V hybrid module that acts as a starter/generator powered by a 0.8 kWh battery, combined in this case with the 4x4 system to enable the car to tackle even rough terrain.
And speaking of the latter, on the new Duster it is always controllable via the dial in the middle of the seats which allows you to select the Snow, Mud/Sand and Off Road driving programmes - with the setting Lock - which locks the traction split 50% front and 50% rear.
Obviously the Dacia Duster Soul of Dakar is destined to remain a one-off, so no prices or availability for the European market, but it is not impossible that some enthusiast might try to create a similar example.
