It should look like the Duster and Bigster, but we show you a very attractive digital alternative.

After learning about the Bigster and knowing that Dacia is going to create a traditional compact (to take sales away from the successful Toyota Corolla or the SEAT Leon, among many others), the Romanian brand's next new product could be the new generation of the Sandero, scheduled for 2027.

This future instalment of the best-seller should resemble the Duster and the Bigster itself, as you can see in the recreation below, created by our image processing specialists. Now, we want you to see another digital vision of the 2027 Sandero.

You have it at the top of this article coming from the firm AutoproMax. The truth is that it's a bit unrealistic, but we can't deny that it's shocking to think that such an eye-catching car is a Dacia

A surprising 2027 Sandero

The Sandero shown on AutoproMax is the Stepway crossover variant. Just look at the country-style bumper and the bodywork protection. The front end integrates horizontal headlamps with three vertical light strips each, as well as a black band between them with 'Dacia' lettering. Do you like this approach?

In principle, the new Sandero will already include a 100 per cent electric version, which will be based on the engines and batteries of the new Renault 4 E-Tech and 5 E-Tech, but it will not abandon combustion engines in order to remain an affordable model designed for the majority of customers.

Unless there are any surprises, the car will remain in the B-segment and will therefore maintain its compact dimensions and a length of no more than 4.10 metres. The current model is gratifyingly spacious inside and also has a very practical 328-litre boot.

New Chinese rivals?

The new model will also retain the much-loved Stepway variant, with specific styling and increased ground clearance. Light hybridisation and bi-fuel powertrain will be used.

Its main rival will continue to be the Citroën C3, which has just been launched with electric, petrol, and mild hybrid options. Some Chinese brands, such as Omoda, are also likely to try to undercut it with proposals that are still to come.
