At the end of the year, there's always just one thing to buy: a new calendar, so you don't forget appointments, holidays and so on. Big or small, daily, weekly or monthly, it doesn't matter. One is as good as the other, unless it's the Pirelli Calendar. It's not just a collection of pages to mark the passing of time, but a genuine work of art published by the company since 1963.

What makes it unique are the shots taken by famous photographers, immortalising celebrities from the present and the past. This tradition continues with the 2025 Pirelli Calendar, presented yesterday in London.

Back to the past

Cal 2025, entitled "Refresh and Reveal", abandons the more evocative atmospheres of previous editions and returns to the theme of sensuality, which has guided the work of successive photographers over the years. This year, it was Ethan James Green who was behind the camera, charged with immortalising 12 stars from the world of entertainment, including Mr Green himself.

The characters in the 2025 Pirelli Calendar are British actresses Simone Ashley and Jodie Turner-Smith, British actor John Boyega, French actor Vincent Cassel, American actress and activist Hunter Schafer, former Indian model and writer Padma Lakshmi, Italian singer Elodie, South Korean actress Hoyeon, American artist Martine Gutierrez and American models Connie Fleming and Jenny Shimizu.

In all, 24 photos, 2 for each star, one in black and white, the other in colour, were taken between May and June 2024 in the historic park of Virginia Key Beach in Miami.

Tell us what you think!

"It's very important to us, it's the identity of our image and it's part of a wider cultural project like Hangar Bicocca where we do exhibitions," commented Marco Tronchetti Provera, executive vice-president of Pirelli. "2025 is naked and sensual, but we don't want to give any messages. Behind it lies the absolute freedom of the artist".
