450 horsepower super-truck lands in Blighty.

The fearsome Ford F-150 Raptor is now on sale in the UK, thanks to London-based supercar dealer Clive Sutton. The specialist firm has secured five left-hand-drive Raptors for UK customers, priced from £78,000 – and three of them have reportedly already been sold.

The ‘super-truck’ boasts a turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 450hp and 510 lb ft of torque. It’s mated to a 10-speed automatic gearbox – and, courtesy of the latest F-150’s lightweight aluminium construction, reviewers in the United States have clocked 0-60 mph times of less than 5.5 seconds. Off-road, high-spec Fox Racing dampers boost its ground-covering ability.

Two versions are offered here in the UK: an F-150 Raptor SuperCab, which has rear-hinged coach doors at the back (and smart pillarless entry), plus the more doublecab-like SuperCrew, with conventional full-size rear doors. One of each is currently still available: the SuperCab in Lightning Blue and the SuperCrew in Shadow Black.

Clive Sutton is even offering buyers the opportunity to convert their Raptor to right-hand drive for an extra £36,000. This bespoke process is said to involve “both traditional and modern techniques to ‘mirror’ the dashboard appearance and steering assembly”. And if 450hp isn’t enough, a £10,800 Sutton Bespoke supercharging option will take the F-150 Raptor up to almost 600hp – which is more than even the 550 hp (and £96,900) Range Rover Sport SVR...
