Porsche's Plug-In Wagon Is Quicker And Faster Than These Cars
The 680-hp Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo shames plenty of bona fide sports cars.
Station wagons are boring appliances for dull, practical people. And plug-in hybrids are best only for green freaks who want to drive under the speed limit at all times. Right?
Wrong. So very, very wrong.
If any car is going to shatter these horrifically misguided preconceptions, it’s the 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. Its hybrid powertrain develops a total of 680 horsepower and 682 pound-feet of torque. It will accelerate to 60 miles per hour in 3.2 and rush through the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds. And with enough open road, it can manage a top speed of 192 mph.
