The Mercedes-AMG C53 is set to replace the C63, moving away from the less popular hybrid powertrain. Recent spy photos have surfaced, offering a peek into the cabin while camouflage conceals the car’s exterior styling details. Despite the coverings, the images reveal the Panamericana grille, a wide lower grille opening, and large intakes positioned at the outer corners of the bumper. It is anticipated that the C53 will feature updated lighting both at the front and rear.

The C53 will be equipped with staggered tires, measuring 265/35 on the front and 275/35 on the rear, mounted on 20-inch rims. Inside, the cabin appears largely unchanged, with the large screen beneath the three central vents remaining intact. The steering wheel is covered, suggesting a potential unique design for this model. The C53 will be powered by the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine, also found in the CLE 53, which produces 443 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque in the coupe.

Although the C53 will not match the power output of the previous C63, which boasted a four-cylinder hybrid system generating 671 horsepower and 752 pound-feet of torque, it is expected to be lighter. This reduction in weight could enhance the driving experience, compensating for the lower power. The C53’s design and performance updates aim to offer a more refined and engaging driving experience compared to its predecessor.
